Chevy Chase Spring Market Update – Pricing is Still Key

Last weekend I was fortunate to help a couple coming to our area from Austin, Texas to work at the National Gallery of Art. After looking at numerous homes, I convinced them that Chevy Chase was a terrific place to live and a perfect location for them.

We located a charming home in Rollingwood that met all of their needs. It had gone on the market that weekend and already had one registered offer. My buyers decided to write a contract as well. There ended up being three offers and with much discussion and strategy, theirs was chosen. We tried to write a clean offer and I suggested doing a pre-inspection so that we could remove that contingency. The house ended up going five percent over the asking price. The appraisal came in today at a few thousand over what the buyers had offered.

When a house is priced well, it often attracts numerous buyers and the terms are favorable for a seller.
