Parkway Deli and Restaurant: A Local Landmark

Parkway Deli and Restaurant in neighboring Silver Spring is a favorite among Chevy Chase residents. Whenever anyone gives their friends directions, all they need to say is, “I live right down the street from Parkway Deli,” and everyone knows exactly where to go. Very few locals have never been to the Parkway Deli. This New York style deli is a third generation, family owned restaurant in its 48th year of operation. Not only is Parkway Deli a local landmark, the food is excellent and the service is fast and friendly. Out-of-town guests always enjoy visiting the Parkway Deli.

Traditional Jewish fare makes up a good portion of the menu, including: matzo ball soup, potato pancakes and cheese blintzes with sour cream and applesauce. Also popular are the build-your-own “King Size” sandwiches and the complementary pickle bar. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are served all day. For those individuals with a sweet tooth; you won’t be able to miss the large display case filled with a variety of fresh cakes and pastries to choose from. Whatever your dining pleasure, you will find many delicious and affordable options at Parkway Deli.

A word of caution: Parkway Deli is so popular; you will need to plan your visit carefully. The restaurant is packed with customers for brunch on the weekends, so if you don’t have time to stand in line, I recommend arriving at least a half an hour earlier than the crowd or plan on visiting Parkway Deli another time!
