The cost of gas has had a lot of people talking lately. With a national average of $3.761 – nearly 20 cents higher than last year’s average – it’s hard to ignore the increase in travel costs. Thankfully it seems that prices may be on their way back down.

It’s true that a 3/10 of a cent drop from Tuesday’s national average isn’t a lot to get excited about.  However, more states are seeing gas prices hold steady and even decrease. HOW DO CHEVY CHASE GAS PRICES RANK?

Gas prices around Bethesda and Chevy Chase ranged from $3.87 to $4.69 as of March 7. Compared to other Maryland cities, Baltimore has dropped to $3.67, while Hagerstown has increased to $3.77.

Compared to gas prices among states, Maryland ranks 28 with an average of $3.70 a gallon. Wyoming has the lowest gas prices averaging $3.19, while Hawaii comes in at the highest at $4.37.
