Built in 1922, the Lincoln Theatre was known for influencing the Harlem Renaissance. Washington natives, Duke Ellington and Pearl Bailey, along with Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat Cole King and many other African Americans, played at the Lincoln. Today, it continues to be a great venue bringing together all cultures and nationalities.
