The Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center is part of the NIH (National Institute of Health), located on Bethesda Maryland. It was named after biomedical champion, U.S. Senator Mark O. Hatfield (R-OR). It is the largest hospital in the world dedicated to clinical research. Patients are admitted as part of a clinical research protocol and pay no hospital bills.
