Congratulations To Whitman and Bethesda-Chevy Chase High Schools!

Recently, wbaltv.com came out with a list of the top 30 public high schools in Maryland. Two local Bethesda schools made the list, and happened to be categorized in the top ten. Walt Whitman High School ranked #2, while Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School ranked #6.  Way to go! pencil

About Walt Whitman High School

Whitman High offers students an extensive range of academic and extracurricular programs. Some after school clubs and teams include: Shakespeare Club, American Red Cross Club, Key Club, Math Team, Classics Club, Cinema Club, swimming, wrestling, soccer, and more.

The Whitman Education Foundation raises funds to help improve the quality of student learning. Contributions have gone to the following items:

  • Digital Scanner for the Art Department
  • Research Manuals for the Media Center
  • Computer Work Stations
  • External Security Cameras
  • Tread Mill for the Physical Education Department
  • And More

Whitman High School offers International Partnerships with study abroad opportunities. Whitman High currently has an exchange program set up with a high school in Denmark.

About Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School

Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School offers an International Baccalaureate program, which provides students with a liberal arts education.

Currently, there are about 1,800 students who attend Bethesda-Chevy Chase.
