Firework on New Year's EveWith New Year’s Eve just around the corner, we’ve made a list of some entertaining events to help you celebrate the beginning of 2014. Whether you want to see a fireworks show, enjoy an evening of dinner and dancing, or find something fun for the little ones, you can find it here. Take a look at the following New Year’s Eve things to do in the DC Metro area.

New Year’s Eve Events in Northern Virginia

First Night Alexandria will offer family-friendly activities, live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display. There will be arts and crafts for young children, musical performances, and plenty of things to do for all ages. Be sure to purchase a ticket if you would like to go.

First Night Vienna will take place at Historic Church Street at 7 p.m. Admission is free, and there will be plenty of food, music and activities for kids.

Washington, DC New Year’s Eve Events

Professionals in the City New Year’s Eve Gala will take place at the Capital Hilton from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets include access to an open bar, pasta and carving stations, and international dance and musical entertainment.

Things to Do for New Year’s Eve in Montgomery County, MD

If you’re interested in a night of music, check out the Fillmore in Silver Spring at 9 p.m. Slightly Stoopid and Passafire will perform a mixture of rock, reggae and blues.

La Tasca in Rockville will have a New Year’s Eve Gala starting at 8:30 p.m. Enjoy an evening of unlimited tapas, music and a champagne toast at midnight. You must make a reservation to attend, and the cost per person is $95.

Redwood in Bethesda will feature a 1920’s speakeasy themed New Year’s Eve party. Be sure to make a reservation if you’re interested in attending.
