Come Dump and Donate in Chevy Chase on June 7

Chevy Chase eventDo you have a closet full of old children’s toys that you no longer want? Or perhaps you have a filing cabinet full of classified documents that you no longer need but don’t want to just throw in the trash?

While these things may not seem related, they actually are during the annual Dump and Donate in Chevy Chase.

This event, which will be from 9 – 11 am on June 7 at 3200 Woodbine Street in the International School parking lot, is a chance for residents to donate unwanted items as well as safely dispose of sensitive documents.

What Should I Know About This DC Area Event?

Held annually, this popular event has seen attendance grow over the years because of its popularity.

During this event, residents use a shredding truck to dispose of all of their confidential paperwork.

Additionally, residents can dispose of other items thanks to a dumpster provided on site. Everything can be thrown in these dumpsters except for:

  • Paint cans (unless dry)
  • Tires
  • Appliances
  • Food

Meanwhile, residents also have the option of donating items to charity at the event. Central Union Mission will issue receipts to anyone who wants to participate.
