Support Breast Cancer Awareness in Washington DC’s Metro Area!

One of my main focuses as a real estate agent in the DC Metro area is to stay connected to my community. My job description goes above and beyond simply selling homes. I also have to sell neighborhoods. From Bethesda to Chevy Chase and beyond, I have to show homebuyers what exactly it is that makes each community special. In the case of the DC Metro area, I believe that one of its strongest attributes is how supportive each neighborhood is of one another.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and each of the communities in the DC Metro area are coming together to show their support for this important cause. There are a number of fun, family-friendly events happening all month long where you can both enjoy yourself AND benefit breast cancer research. I thought I’d share a few of the upcoming events that you can enjoy:

Take a Bite Out of Breast Cancer

Throughout the entire month of October, restaurants all over the Washington DC Metro area will be donating a portion of their sales to breast cancer research.  For one day a week or the entire month, participating eateries will be making it their mission to educate patrons about the cause. Information about early breast cancer detection and awareness will be given to diners all month long. The participating restaurants are some of the area’s mouthwatering favorites, and with such a great cause in the mix, why WOULDN’T you eat at one of them this month?

Pink Friday at Dance Bethesda

While you might not be the world’s greatest dancer, there’s no denying that it’s fun, and this Friday night, you can get your groove on at Dance Bethesda! Show up in pink at 8:00pm and learn some ballroom favorites. If you’re a beginner, you’ll be learning the cha cha and foxtrot. Intermediate dancers will take on the quickstep and bolero styles. At 9:00, the festivities begin as you start dancing to latin, swing and ballroom music. It’s great exercise, and each $15.00 donation will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Breast Cancer Awareness at BlackFinn

Montgomery County firefighter Marshall Moneymaker lost three sisters to breast cancer. In order to help the cause, he and his wife, Shannon, created the 3 Sisters organization. This Friday night, BlackFinn American Saloon in Bethesda is hosting a special event and happy hour to support this great charity. Donate $5.00 to 3 Sisters and enjoy a multitude of happy hour specials! It will be a fun and charitable way to ring in the weekend!

From dining in DC to fun in Bethesda, there are plenty of events happening in the area that will allow you to show your support for breast cancer research. If you want to know more about the DC Metro area or want to see some of the gorgeous homes available on the local real estate market, don’t hesitate to contact me! I’d be happy to tell you more about my community. I hope to hear from you soon!
