We’ve decided to explore Bethesda over the next few weeks by blogging about local neighborhoods. To start it off, we’re going to take a look at Maplewood and Alta Vista. Roughly bordered by the Capital Beltway to the north, Old Georgetown Road to the west and Rockville Pike to the east, this Bethesda community is close to plenty of conveniences and amenities. Bethesda, MD Places of Interest Around Maplewood Alta Vista

There are plenty of unique attractions in and around the Maplewood Alta Vista neighborhood. The following are only a short distance away:

  • The National Institutes of Health and Walter Reed Medical Center are about a mile or so south of the neighborhood.
  • The Maplewood Alta Vista Park provides residents with basketball courts, tennis courts, a baseball field and a fountain.
  • Agio and Café Promenade, two Italian restaurants, are within walking distance of many Maplewood Alta Vista homebuyers. Wisconsin Avenue, a hotspot for shops and dining, is home to many restaurants like Benihana Japanese Steakhouse, Haandi Indian Restaurant, Black’s Bar and Kitchen and lots more.
  • Bethesda has a variety of places to go shopping. Bethesda Row is a popular mall and includes the following shops: Apple Store, Fitness Resource, Ritz Camera, Barnes and Noble, The North Face, Petra Boutique and more.

Maplewood Alta Vista will have its own Dump & Donate Day on May 18 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event gives neighborhood residents a chance to take advantage of spring cleaning by:

  • Shredding Sensitive Documents
