“Monkeys grasp for the moon” is a sculpture composed of 21 laminated wood pieces, each of which form the word monkey, in one of a dozen languages, such as Indonesian, Urdu, Hebrew and Braille. Chinese Artist Xu Bing designed the sculpture specifically for the Sackler Gallery in Washington, DC.
