Though it’s still early to start your holiday shopping, you might find some interesting gift ideas at the upcoming Edgemoor Art and Fine Crafts Show. Whether you’re looking to decorate your DC area home with pottery and tableware or if simply want to browse, you’ll certainly find something to catch your eye. If you haven’t visited in the past, you’re in for a real treat.
Where and When Does the Edgemoor Art Show Take Place?
The show starts on November 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It takes place at the Edgemoor Club in Bethesda, about ten minutes from an amazing Bethesda home for sale.
What Items Are Available at the Show?
Expect to find all kinds of crafts including: jewelry, soaps, pottery, toys, winter accessories, decorations, snacks and more.
Whose Art Work Will Be On Display?
The show will host local and nationally-recognized artists. The following have had their work recognized in publications, gallery and/or museum exhibitions.
Who: Hillary Steel
Type of Art: Weaving and resist dyeing
About Her: Hillary’s textiles have been displayed in public and private collections, including the American Embassy in Burkina Faso, the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallrey, The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery and in the book Art on the Edge: Seventeen Contemporary American Artists. She lives in Montgomery County and has a studio in Takoma Park.
Who: Valerie Brown
Type of Art: Photography
About Her: Valerie started off as an assistant to the famous surrealist, Salvador Dali. Many of Valerie’s photographs have been in international collections, as well as magazines like People and Time.
Who: Dale Fleur
Type of Art: Beadweaving and lampworking jewelry
About Her: Dale’s jewelry has been sold in galleries and displayed in magazines. Her detailed work involves weaving tiny glass beads into intricate designs.
Who: Lisa Williamson
Type of Art: Paintings
About Her: Lisa’s watercolor paintings have been featured in museums around the country. She earned her MFA from Southern Illinois University.
